Case Studies:
Regency Park (Gymnasium, slippery and safety hazard): New South Wales – Fral FSW96
Problem:
Condensation and excessive humidity in indoor heated pool room, gym room and changing rooms at Regency Park complex.
Property Manager, Richard Knaus, had contacted several firms in Sydney to offer solutions but could not receive any constructive advice.
Richard discovered Moisture Cure online and after some preliminary discussion we concluded that a site visit was in order.
Moisture readings confirmed the excessive moisture in the walls and high humidity levels in the rooms that Richard had spoken about. If left untreated this situation could lead to serious disintegration and rust corrosion problems. Also, the gym equipment being constantly slippery poses a safety hazard.
Solution:
After some psychometric calculations Moisture Cure recommended the FRAL FSW 96. This model is designed by our FRAL manufacturer specifically for corrosive environments such as heated indoor pool areas.
Richard’s comments:
Following up eighteen months after installation, Moisture Cure received this positive assessment from Richard, “The condensation problem has all but gone. The only time we have any issues is in the middle of winter when the pool water is warm and the windows are very cold, but generally the whole area has improved out of sight”. To overcome the ‘winter problem’ Moisture Cure have suggested that the dehumidifier is left running for longer periods in the winter.
Richard also commented that the unit is easy to operate, he just sets and forgets. Overall, he considers the FRAL FSW 96 represents excellent value for money and copes well with the large area.
